Digital Health Devon

Are your digital skills in shape?

An award-winning FREE service has been rolled out across Devon designed to show people how to access local health, social care and wellbeing services using the internet.

Following successful work running free digital tutorials in Torbay, funded by Ageing Well Torbay and the Big Lottery Fund, independent healthcare consumer champion Healthwatch Torbay has launched ‘Digital Health Devon’ – an E-Learning Tool that shows people to access local online resources like appointment-booking and medication-ordering at GP Practices right through to self-referral services and self-help resources.

In October 2018 the pilot project in Torbay won a national ‘Highly Commended’ award in the ‘Giving people the advice and information they need’ category at the 2018 National Healthwatch Excellence Awards. This project has now expanded into the wider Devon area, supported by the NHS in Devon and the Innovation in Healthy Ageing programme, hosting drop in sessions at GP Practices and community venues.

The project website has been redeveloped to offer Devon residents the chance to complete a free online training course in your own time, from the comfort of your own device, and in your own home. This is available for free via www.digitalhealthdevon.co.uk. Please visit it today to register and take a look at the free support on offer to you.
